It all depends on the dogs and how they're introduced. On Friday, September 5th, one Bernese Mountain Puppy's meeting with some big dogs went as well as it possibly could have. When he first laid eyes on those big dogs, he could hardly believe his eyes!
One of the main things people love about Bernese Mountain Dogs is how outgoing they are, and that starts in puppyhood. While it's not a given that they'll be social and outgoing, they do tend to lean that way. ... Socialization is still key, even in a highly social breed like this. You have to make sure they're accustomed to meeting other animals!Puppies meeting other dogs will typically go one of two ways: either it's a little scary or it's the cutest moment in the entire world.Bar Vom Matterhorn has some very cute puppies, and they all have those stunning eyes! Bernese Mountain Dogs have the cutest eyes in the world. This boy is going to be someone's dog one day, so he doesn't have a name yet. Yes, obedience classes! I regret not exchanging numbers with the other dog parents at class. Sigh. I guess I need to wait for level two class. What about meeting people at the pet store? I've chatted with people when our dogs say hi.
I should be bolder and ask if they want to meet up for walks and playtime. ... Walk encounters. With doing so many walks we start seeing the same dogs around the same time everyday. The dogs start to recognize each other. Sometimes the owners let them play a little on the sidewalk.Doggy daycare sounds like a good option if it's within your budget. Otherwise I'd just keep trying to connect with peeps at your local park until one sticks! ... It’s definitely not in my budget but I’m considering trying it anyway as a last resort. I’ve given my contacts to people in my building or nearby, cuz I know a lot of puppies. But their owners aren’t consistent with taking them outside so I never meet them again even when I text them and try to initiate a play date. Those have been great for our puppy, particular since we’re in a rural area and don’t know many people with dogs or puppies. ... Do you have a nearby PetSmart, PetCo. or Hollywood Feed or other animal chain nearby? I’m thinking they may offer puppy classes and you might swing by as the class ends to see if anyone would be interested in making a puppy play date. Also, if you have the neighborhood app, you could reach out to other puppy owners to see if you can meet at a nearby park.My dog has my fiancé's dog, although I don't know if I'd call them friends because his dog hates my dog, but he loves her. She won't play with him but he's at least got another dog around. Have you looked at Meetup or Facebook groups? My sister is in a Facebook group that is a dog-sitting exchange so people don't have to pay for a dog-sitter.
Just wondering if its realistic to network with your dogs like people do with their kids. Have you made lifelong friends this way? Please let me know…
I do dog sports with my dogs and so we meet new people that way. I train with 2 friends, one is 20 years older than me, the other is 35 years older than me. They're excellent because they have so much experience and we get along great despite the age differences.I've met many really neat people and friends this way with a huge variety in backgrounds and talents, people I'd never have even talked to otherwise. Its kind of like other hobbies, if you're involved and go out to classes and events, you're going to meet people. If you just have a dog and go for a walk and maybe go to the dog park, you're less likely to make the same kind of connections. My husband and I moved to a new city then got a dog, my dog has made lots of friends, and we often stop for a chat with other dog owners. Got chatting about DnD with one woman and now we're very good mates with a small gaming group. He has really helped us settle in our new home. ... Thats awesome. What kind of places did you meet these people?I started running with my dog and then heard about canicross. Found out there was a local mushing club in my area that train at trails 10 miles from the house and they had a race coming up. Went and raced and met people. They invited me back for the new years event they had and I met some friends who showed me how to find more races. I've got a group of 5 of us who meet up and train 6 days a week and then I've met friends from all over the country and a few in Mexico and Canada who race in the spring and fall.

That is exactly what Lauren Elise got when she flew in to meet her son, a super-tiny and adorable Mini Dachshund puppy, Finnley James. Elise shared the video to her TikTok account, and it features the new mom in an airport running toward the tiny dog with all her luggage before getting on the ground to scoop him up and give him the biggest hug.Dogs don't cognitively understand the concept of parents, so no, they don't think humans are their parents.According to AnimalWised, when dogs are born, they know their canine mother is their mother only in terms of instincts, in that she feeds them and keeps them clean and safe (hopefully). With humans that adopt them, dogs view them as significant companions that they count on to take care of them and essentially keep them alive.

You’re probably asking yourself, what’s the big deal with meeting a new dog right? Well in reality it’s a huge deal from a dog’s perspective and unfortunately the majority of people are misinformed when it comes to meeting a dog they don’t know. They are already evaluating not only the scent of an approaching person from many feet away but also their energy. Also remember that just because a dog is ready to smell, doesn’t mean they are ready to be pet. That being said, I’m often asked, “well then what’s the best way to meet a dog?” The answer is pretty simple, show them respect.By doing this, you are giving the dog an opportunity to learn your scent, show them that you understand how to be respectful and that you are not a threat. Whether I’m meeting a new dog for training, a dog at a friend or family members home or just a dog in the street I always follow this protocol to insure my safety and to show a dog that I understand how to meet. There are way too many dog’s in America being euthanized for bites because of humans disrespecting their space and not understanding how to meet a dog properly. Not every dog wants to receive affection immediately upon meeting.

My dog got to meet her sister!
"We got them together for a park playdate yesterday and it was one of my favorite afternoons ever," the owner wrote. "They were so much alike.""I always hoped something like this would happen. I always hoped we would meet a sibling or one of her puppies," Patrick said. "It took a couple of years for the dream to come to fruition but it was absolutely worth the wait. What followed was a shocking and heartwarming discovery: Lulu had a sister living in the same town. The owner, Amber Patrick, who shared the incredible story in a Reddit post, called the reunion of the two dogs "a dream come true." Patrick, 42, spoke to Newsweek about how she felt seeing the two pups get reacquainted, and what's to come for the siblings.Four years after adopting a dog named Lulu, a pet owner decided to do a DNA test.
“What a strange hybrid beast!” When first found, the animal was a mystery, showing traits common in both dogs and foxes.
The animal looked and barked like a dog—albeit one with long, pointed, foxlike ears—but it also climbed bushes, a behavior more typical of the local Pampas fox, and it refused common dog food, preferring to eat rats. They contacted geneticists Thales Renato Ochotorena de Freitas from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul and Rafael Kretschmer from the Universidade Federal de Pelotas who, last month, published a study confirming the animal was the world’s first documented fox-dog.The first step in confirming the possibility that Dogxim was a hybrid was to determine the number of chromosomes in Dogxim’s cells. She had 76 in total, a clue scientists could use to determine her species because a single species will generally have a fixed number of chromosomes.Next, geneticists examined Dogxim’s mitochondrial DNA—the chromosomes inherited exclusively from its mother—and determined they came from a Pampas fox. They then looked at the nuclear DNA, which contains chromosomal information from both parents, and found a mixture of dog and Pampas fox.
Sabrina Carpenter's adorable family dogs grace the cover of 'Dogue,' the canine-centric 'Vogue' issue in which the star gushed about Louie & Goodwin.
On the Dogue cover, the two canines pose with their tongues out while riding a white miniature Mercedes-Benz, modeling kerchiefs specially ordered for the occasion by Carpenter’s mom. “They can’t go on walks without getting stopped anymore … egos have substantially grown,” the Grammy winner also quipped.ROSÉ and Maluma's pups are also featured on Vogue's latest Dogue cover series.Sabrina Carpenter‘s dogs may be famous enough now to grace the cover of Dogue, but first and foremost, they’ll always be woman’s best friend. On Monday (Aug. 18), the pop star and Vogue jointly announced that Carpenter’s two pups, Goodwin and Louie, are cover stars for the publication’s ongoing dog-focused series.

Meet My Dog is the story of Sarah, my user and partner for my two very first weeks at General Assembly London. The objective: detect our user’s needs and develop a concept map, storyboard, sketches and a clickable paper prototype during week 1. It took me some time to find a problem to solve but I found it…I am thankful for the things that they liked- ‘playful’, ‘clear layout’, ‘great concept’- and I applied their ideas to improve in the version 3: ‘separate the dogs visually’, ‘ orange border on the map’, ‘icons are not centred’. My favourite feedback was something to keep in mind for version 3: ‘it reads as if it were the puppies themselves applying for their opportunity to meet new friends!’.Now Sarah doesn’t have to miss a dog anymore. Every time she feels that she wants to spend some time with a dog, she can open Meet My Dog app and find a dog near her.Let me remind you that this app is the answer to Sarah’s problem missing the company of a dog but not wanting to care for someone else’s dog. With this app she can find activities with dogs under the supervision of the dog’s owners. And now she can enjoy an easy, simple and entertaining app full of friendly dogs happy to meet her.
